About Us
Tigerhill Studio —
The name is a salute to the famed Flying Tigers of World War II. It is also a pledge to a level of service and precision
too seldom experienced these days.
John Hill —The founder and principal photographer at Tigerhill Studio.
John has a life-long passion for flying and photography, especially aerials.
He combines that with a strong background in real estate development and engineering.
This explains his ability to capture such quality aerial and architectural images, so consistently and so quickly.
Once you see John's stunning, breath-taking shots, one thing is for sure – you will remember them.

John Hill's Philosophy — THIS IS THE WAY I OPERATE:
- I make it as simple as possible. You order the assignment, I deliver the best quality – ASAP.
- As my client, you do not need to worry about problems like weather, FAA restrictions, camera failures, and airplane and pilot balks.
That's my job and I do it well. I make the process as smooth as I can.
As my client, you won't be exposed to the risks associated with sloppy procedures, cutting corners, flying uninsured, and busting regulations.
-
I believe my product should have a positive benefit for you; my pictures should show off your site, not be a detraction.
My goal is to have my product help you make a deal – and I know how to do that.
-
I have the optimum cameras (which I upgrade frequently) and aircraft for a typical assignment but I can also assemble the
exotic items (such as higher resolution cameras, night photography, rapid acquisition,
rough skies, cranes, gyrostabilizers, broadcast-quality helicopter videos, and increasingly, architectural, ground based photography)
for more challenging work, if needed.
-
I quote a price and I live with it. I discuss the assignment with my clients; I am straightforward;
and I do the work without trying to renegotiate the price or add on extras.
I understand that my clients may desire to stay employed.
- I know from experience that new assignments tend to cycle around again and again, as interest changes, sales happen,
construction or demolition occur,
weather improves, and as time goes by. I keep this in mind as I fly around. I constantly modernize my stock images.
The next time you call, I might already have what you are loking for.
- I am always improving my routine computer skills, but I also know my capabilities;
I have vendors that handle artwork beyond my own limits.
- I believe premium product and service require premium prices. Top quality photography is inexpensive compared
to the value of the project and to the message it helps to convey. At times, the premium may relate to very fast turnaround
in deteriorated conditions. My equipment and experience often help me find economical solutions to difficult constraints.
- My helicopter flights are with good operators that have high time pilots and excellent safety records. The aircraft are
able to handle the missions safely and economically.
- The airplane people train their pilots to work with me and the system. I do not fly and shoot pictures.
The pilot concentrates on flying, and we form a team for the flight. I do not use student pilots.
- Aerial and architectural photography are specialties. All types of photography have their own peculiarities.
That’s why you call upon professionals.
- I minimize my risks by flying as safely as I can, and I pass on benefits of that to my clients. That means flying with
aircraft and people that I trust. They carry insurance and are happy to provide certificates thereof.
